Court Blocks Abortion-Funding Lawsuit

An Illinois appellate court has upheld the dismissal of a lawsuit filed to stop a law that'll expand Medicaid and state-employee group health insurance to cover abortions. A three-judge panel of the Fourth District Appellate Court ruled unanimously that a Sangamon County judge correctly dismissed the lawsuit filed by anti-abortion groups. The judge ruled in January that courts shouldn't intervene in General Assembly "political questions." Read more...

Pro-Lifers Sue Toledo Cops

Pro-life activists have filed a lawsuit against Toledo, Ohio, and its police force, accusing them of violating their free speech and religious freedom rights. Calvin Zastrow and his daughter, Corrie, filed the civil rights action in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio against the city of Toledo, its police chief and two officers. At issue were multiple incidents in which the Zastrows were forced by police to stop holding religious pro-life demonstrations on a public sidewalk across the street from an abortion clinic. Judge Rules in Favor of Indiana Clinic

A judge has ruled in favor of an abortion chain seeking to open a clinic in Indiana but pro-life activists are vowing to fight the effort. Whole Woman's Health Alliance, which is headquartered in Texas, went to court over its plans to open a South Bend abortuary. Jackie Appleman, executive director of Saint Joseph County Right to Life says the Indiana Department of Health denied the license request and Whole Woman's appealed and won a ruling last week. NY Pro-Life Pregnancy Centers Under Attack

The Big Apple and state of New York have been targeting pro-life pregnancy centers with laws that – for the most part – have been declared unconstitutional, but that has not slowed down the assault. The latest assault is a bill proposed by Assemblyman Deborah Glick. The bill – if passed – would require information for a database to find ways to further cripple the centers. Read more...

Video: The Reality of 'Safe and Legal'

There’s little real difference between “professional” abortions and the abortion lobby’s proverbial back alleys, according to a new video tour of a now-defunct abortion facility. Pro-life activist Lauren Handy released a video on Facebook Wednesday touring the National Abortion Holocaust Memorial in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The building used to be an abortion facility called Delta Women's Clinic, where almost 30,000 babies are estimated to have been killed from 1986 until 1994. Read more...

Even though we know it's a complex issue and that simple laws and legislation won't merely stop the taking of lives, that doesn't mean we throw in the towel and stop fighting for simple laws and legislation.
